About Astrophysics Colleges:
Astrophysics probes the nature of various space objects such as asteroids, comets, stars and galaxies, seeking to understand the cosmic processes that affect these objects and our own planet, the earth. Courses will include the study of specialized branches of physics, such as quantum mechanics, optics, gas theory, and thermonuclear physics. Basic training in mathematics, chemistry, and physics is prerequisite to entering some degree programs. A degree in astrophysics equips the student for a variety of careers at observatories, planetaria, and educational institutions.
