In addition, the state of Florida requires that all applicants complete an internship prior to taking an exam for licensure. Bachelor Degree applicants are required to complete a three-year internship, while students at the Master's Degree level must complete at least two years of an internship. In both cases, at least one year of the internship must be completed prior to graduation. Once the applicant has shown proof of these requirements, he or she must pass an exam and completed continuing education requirements every two years in order to retain the license.
