The University of Nevada has two campuses, one in Las Vegas and one in Reno. The Las Vegas campus has a large enrollment of more than 27,000 students. More than 200 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree programs are offered here. The university's offerings are quite diverse throughout the individual colleges that make up the school and include business, health sciences, fine arts, hotel administration, education, engineering, liberal arts, sciences and urban affairs. The UNLV Rebels play Division I college athletics.

Sierra Nevada College in Lake Tahoe is indeed a unique institution of higher learning. This liberal arts college is located in Incline Village, right in the heart of Lake Tahoe's ski resort facilities. The lake itself is just two miles from campus, and any ski fanatic would be thrilled with the location of this college. The school has four undergraduate departments (Science and Technology, Humanities and Social Science, Management, and Fine Arts); a fifth-year post-baccalaureate program in Teacher Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching. The college has established partnerships and collaborations with Carnegie Mellon University; the Desert Research Institute, and the University of California, Davis. Athletes here compete in alpine skiing, snowboarding, soccer and equestrian events.
