Tennessee is an interesting and diverse state. You'll find plenty of large cities here, like Knoxville in the east, Nashville in the center of the state, the Memphis to the west. Renowned for its role in country and other traditional forms of 20th century American music, Tennessee is the perfect place for the music lover. Students, however, will also find plenty to do outside of the cities, thanks to the lovely Appalachian Mountains, long rivers like the Cumberland, Tennessee, and Arkansas, and plenty of state parks and forests providing a variety of outdoor recreational activities.
