The Utah College Scene - An Exclusive U.S. College Search Report
The beautiful state of Utah is a mecca for those who love the outdoors. The state boasts wonderful ski resorts like Park City, miles and miles of national forests and wilderness areas and, of course, bodies of water such as the Great Salt Lake and the Colorado River, providing lots of fun on the water. Salt Lake City is a fascinating town, full of Mormon history yet fun and interesting for people of all faiths to visit. College students won't find a large selection of colleges here but the few that are located in Utah are worth a look.
The University of Utah can be found in the capital, Salt Lake City. With the mountains as a backdrop, this is a truly stunning campus. The flagship of the state system, this campus is a research university dedicated to serving the citizens of Utah. Colleges and departments are vast and range from a College of Mines and Earth Science to a School of Fine Arts. Enrollment is about 30,000 and the most popular departments here are Business and Social and Behavioral Sciences. Tuition for Utah residents is very affordable.
The most well-known private college in the state is Brigham Young University. A Mormon University, it is the mission of this university "to assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life". Located in Provo, the college is also known for its fine academic programs and attracts students from different faiths, though tuition is slightly less for those who are members of the Latter Day Saints. BYU is a "dry" campus and often ranked high in quality of life for students. Both the school's undergraduate accounting and management programs are given high grades by college reviewers.
