This immense university has 17 schools and colleges, including a College of Forest Resources, College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences, and Schools of Law and Medicine. Admission is highly competitive.

The main campus of Washington State University is in Pullman, in the east near Idaho. Pullman is the quintessential college town, far removed from the hubbub of the big cities. Washington State is home to many outstanding academic programs and is consistently lauded for the writing program that each student must take in order to hone their writing skills. More than 200 fields of study are offered to students at 10 separate colleges ranging from Agriculture to Veterinary Science.
